Fine-Tune Your Selections
Our services are divided into several packages, and it’s sometimes hard to know which ones will benefit your project the most. The sample edit breaks all the edits down into the packages so you can see exactly which services you’ll need to make your words shine their brightest.
Don’t like what you see? We’ll be sorry to see you go, but your sample edit is yours to keep — our gift to you. No cost, no obligation.
Beware, though: Once people have seen our editing in action, they often find it hard to be impressed by any other editors. You have been warned.
Have any questions? This section has the answers. If not, feel free to contact us.
How much of my manuscript will the sample edit include?
We will perform the sample edit on up to 2000 words. This is enough to give you a pretty good idea of what benefits a full edit will offer you.
What will I need to view the edits and comments in the sample edit?
We currently work only with file formats compatible with Microsoft Word (DOC, DOCX and RTF). As long as you use MS Word (or a free alternative that operates the same, such as OpenOffice or Google Docs), you will be able to view the comments and edits in your sample — they will show up as coloured text in the body of your manuscript, and as comment boxes in the right-hand margin.
Is the sample edit really free, or will i have to pay for it later when I submit my full project?
The sample edit is totally free. If you decide you don’t want to use our editing services, you don’t pay a cent.
If you decide to submit a full project later on, remember that the project cost is calculated using the wordcount of your manuscript, so you are welcome to leave out the part that was already edited in the sample. This can work very well with copyediting services (where we polish your language and grammar on almost a line-by-line basis, so missing parts of the manuscript won’t matter).
With the structural editing services, however (Content and Consistency checks, Editorial and Theme Review), it is not recommended to leave out the sampled part in your full edit, simply because when we analyse the structure of your entire manuscript, it will be a huge disadvantage to have missing parts, and this may influence the quality of your edit.
